A dismissed industrial building is transformed as a new Urban Center for the city of Florence. The project is articulated in four levels: a permanent exhibition at ground floor, a main level with huge windows and the two former furnaces as the space for the temporary exhibition, an upper floor with a cafeteria and landscaper viewing points, a last floor with the offices for the Urban Center administration.
An inclined wall is the core of the project. Covered in polished reflecting stone, this surface is the support for a territorial maquette of Florence (on its back) and is the spatial and visual link between the main room and the cafeteria.
