The former warehouse building of Lafarge (one of the biggest european producers of concrete) is an appreciable construction from the 1920s. By incrusting the small complex within a huge circular wall, the original architecture is turned into a monumental asset protected by a skylight. This mechanism allows to create a surprise by inverting the inside/outside of the structure. The former central space is turned into a multifunctional patio and the immediate surroundings become exhibition spaces. The external circular wall simplify the whole volume and generate a visual (and protected) reference towards the industrial area around. Being the new function that of a visitors’ center, the intervention create an immediately recognizable item suitable for the communicational purposes of the company.
